His winning bird which was timed just before 9pm on the day, flying 491 miles in almost 15 hours has already been given the name "Nyland Agen" for his exploits 12 months earlier. In 2011 this 2009 bred cock flew a little over 12 and an half hours into a north east wind to achieve 4th Section, 9th Open BICC National, 17th International from 22,029 birds also at Agen. Sire of "Nyland Agen" is bred down from the famous M & D. Evans bloodlines with "Pearce", "Jade Leanna", "Benetton", "Saffron", "Golden Boy", "Amber Louise" all in his pedigree. His Dam was a Welsh stray named "Welsh Mel". Paul Reynolds - 1st & 2nd Stour Valley Federation 1st & 2nd Open Essex & Kent Amalgamation. Velocity 1300.6 & 1300.2 ypm.
This was a particularly exceptional performance when you look at the first twenty in the result, with birds right the way across the radius from the far east coast through to London, a distance of somewhere around sixty-five miles. There were four birds in the east, ten birds across the middle and six birds in the west of the region. The sort of race where the birds had to break and get their head down.
Paul’s first bird is a four year old blue widowhood cock. This pigeon started his career off flying south road where he won 4 x First, 4 x Second plus 2nd Anglian Classic. Since turning him round to the north road, he has been gradually settling in, winning 2nd Club 3rd Federation from Bubwith. Paul quoted he had a lot of faith in this pigeon as he always looks 100% and is the same way bred as his last Amalgamation winner, being bred from his number one pair of Vandenabeeles. The second pigeon, a blue yearling widowhood cock, is also a grandson of Paul’s number one pair of Vandenabeeles. This cock won 3rd Federation from Laceby and was also 17th Amalgamation Wetherby two weeks ago. Paul's No1. pair originate from the partnership Mellonby & Wheelhouse of Bridlington in East Yorkshire and contain the bloodlines of Myrtle Lofts "Jester" & "Carrie"

137 members sent 1,142 birds.
9th, 10th, 44th, 65th Open National old birds
522 members sent 3,981 birds.
Dave & John's 1st Open Yearling National winner is 100% M & D. Evans bloodlines bred by them from stock they purchased direct from Myrtle Lofts.
The sire of the open winner is bred from two Koen Minderhoud birds that are both bred down from "Wittenbuik" x "Moriska" bloodlines on bothsides. The dam is a direct daughter from Myrtle Lofts "Diamond Geezer" (also a grandson from "Wittenbuik" x "Moriska" crossed with the "Fieneke 5000" bloodlines of the late Flor Vervoort) when paired to Myrtle Lofts super breeder "Queen of Diamonds". This hen appears in the pedigrees of several National & Classic winning pigeons around the world but not surprising when you consider in her own pedigree you can see 1st National Bourges 63,176 birds, 1st National Limoges 8,883 birds, 1st National Ciechanow 9,863 birds.
An interesting fact is that Gaby Vandenabeele's world famous "Kleinen" appears in Dave & John's Yearling National winner 6 times, which proves you should no longer attach much importance to the fables of those people who try to make others afraid of line breeding or in-breeding.
